New Guidelines to HUD Multifamily Lending: MAP Guide Changes for 2021
Greystone has deep experience with advising early-stage developers on the path to HUD financing and saw a nearly 100% increase in HUD-insured construction lending in 2020 over the year prior, and close to 193% increase in overall FHA financing volume in the same period.
FHA loans are often desirable for investors because they offer the longest terms, the lowest fixed rates, and the highest leverage levels— up to 85% to 90%.
The newest MAP Guide includes updates that impact borrowers. Multifamily owners and borrowers should be aware of changes in HUD’s MAP Guide that could impact their loan rate and other costs. With advice from a variety of industry stakeholders, including Greystone, HUD develops guidelines for their programs.
